The "High Point of the Year" awards category
|
The High Point of the Year award category is our way of celebrating Ireland's favourite geographical high point locations.
To be considered for a High Point of the Year award, an individual High Point location must attract at least 20 visits, all of which must be logged using the Peakhunter app and be rated on a Highpointeer Score Form. The mean average of all ratings a High Point receives during the year will become its official score in the High Point of the Year awards competition. |
There are three awards available in this category:
This year-long awards competition is being run for the first time in 2019.
- Gold Award: the High Point location with the highest average rating.
- Silver Award: the High Point location with the second highest average rating.
- Bronze Award: the High Point location with the third highest average rating.

The rules
- Download the Peakhunter app to your smartphone and set up a profile. Peakhunter is our official logging partner.
- Visit High Point locations in Ireland. Log these High Point visits while present at the location using the Peakhunter app.
- Register your High Point visits with us using our online Highpointeer Score Form. Give the relevant location a rating on the form.
- Highpointeer Score Forms received after 31st December of the respective awards year will not be considered.
Winner selection
- Based on all Highpointeer Score Forms we receive during the year, an average rating for each High Point location will be calculated. The location with the highest average rating receives the Gold Award, the second highest receives Silver, and the third highest receives Bronze.
- In the case of a draw, the joint highest-rated location which features on the greatest number of Highpointeer Score Forms will be the winner.
- Award winners will be announced as soon as possible after the entry submissions deadline.
